cOre is a low coffee table crafted from UHPC concrete and designed by Sebastian Bergne.
Part of the cOre capsule collection, it draws inspiration from coring techniques used in stone and concrete cutting, translating these industrial processes into a refined design language.
Its sculptural silhouette, defined by rhythmic curves and recessed lines, evokes the marks left by extraction—as if the table itself had been cut and released from a larger mass. The interplay of convex and concave surfaces creates a dynamic profile that shifts with the light, reinforcing the impression of an architectural fragment shaped through both precision and subtraction.
Characterized by its distinctive sandblasted finish, the surface reveals grains of sand from the Tiber River embedded within the concrete mix, connecting the design to the Roman landscape and enhancing its tactile richness. Although inspired by coring techniques, each piece is actually produced through casting in bespoke molds, into which fragments and offcuts from previous castings are incorporated—a deliberate choice that reinforces its commitment to sustainability.
Minimal yet expressive, the cOre coffee table embodies a dual nature: raw and refined, essential and iconic.
