Roca is a Spanish company, which manufactures washbasins, sanitary ware, and bathroom furniture. The company was founded in 1917 in Gavà, Barcelona, by brothers Martín, Matías, José, and Angela Roca Soler under the name Compañía Roca Radiadores, and initially produced cast iron radiators. The Roca siblings soon sensed the potential associated with the growing importance of bathrooms in middle-class homes, with the increasing prevalence of sanitary ware and faucets. Production of ceramic washbasins and sanitary ware was started in 1936, followed by faucets after World War II. Roca's growth continued with the international expansion undertaken since the 1990s, with the acquisition of the Swiss Keramik Holding Laufen group and the building of an extensive network of distributors. From 2009-2010, Roca began to collaborate assiduously with famous designers, including David Chipperfield, Gabriele & Oscar Buratti, Belén y Rafael Moneo, and Giorgetto Giugiaro, to name a few. The quality and design of Roca's products enter the palmarés of the most prestigious international awards, garnering more than 50 awards over the years. Today, Roca is present in more than 170 countries and distributes production in as many as 81 factories. It also boasts projects that convey its values based on the dissemination of culture and sustainability, such as the Roca Gallery, a global platform present in Barcelona, Madrid, London, Lisbon, Shanghai, Beijing and São Paulo, with spaces dedicated to debates, conferences, exhibitions and events on architecture, urbanism and design.

Roca washbasins and sanitary ware, complete solutions for the bathroom

Roca's catalog of washbasins and sanitary ware offers all-around bathroom solutions for every style of decor. The Tura collection, designed by Andreu Carulla in collaboration with the Roca Design Center, is inspired by the emblematic buildings of 20th-century Catalan architecture, with its rationalist forms softened by gentle Mediterranean curves. Tura porcelain washbasins feature a strict square or rectangular shape with slightly rounded edges, and a shallow bowl depth. Details are refined and functional at the same time, such as the invisible overflow and integrated siphon that allows the space below to be used in depth. The basin is matched by Tura bathroom furniture, with simple shapes and compact volume, enlivened by the contrast between the solids and voids of doors, drawers and open shelves. The furniture comes in four finishes, cream, light gray terracotta and light elm. The Tura tub, made of Stonex®, sports refined details, such as the cantilevered base or the thin inner rim that allows the wooden tray to rest on it. Completing the collection are the Tura toilet and Tura bidet, available in wall-hung, floor-standing or monoblock models with an external cistern, all flush with the wall. The Gap collection consists of a wide selection of elements, revealing great versatility. The Gap porcelain washbasins are declined in models with an integrated top, with square shapes and thin thickness, in rectangular, square, oval or round countertop models, or undermount. Wide choice also for The Gap bathroom cabinet to match the washbasin, equipped with drawers and available in walnut, gloss or matte white, oak and Nordic Ash finishes.

Roca design for faucets, shower enclosures and shower trays

The Roca catalog offers solutions for coordinated, designer bathrooms through its wide selection of faucets, shower stalls and shower trays. The Nu faucet collection, designed by Studio Inma Bermúdez, winks at the 1980s with its colorful finishes, declined in 3 bright colors such as cobalt blue, honey yellow and mint green, alongside the more sober glossy white, titanium black and chrome. There is also great variety in the shapes, declined in three models. The Dome three-hole faucet sports an arch-shaped spout flanked by dome-shaped knobs. The Pin faucet features a slender and graceful cylinder shape, while the Stripes faucet has a surface with elegant vertical grooves. For the shower, Roca declines column-mounted faucets in different solutions, such as in the Evolution thermostatic hydromassage column, made of stainless steel, which sports a contemporary design in which the waterfall spout, knobs and hydromassage jets are integrated. For shower trays, the catalog offers classic ceramic solutions with floor installation and a chrome drain, as in the Italia shower tray collection, declined in different shapes and sizes. For environments with a contemporary style, solutions such as the superslim Aquos shower tray in Stonex®,which with its thickness of only 35mm allows installation flush with the floor, are suitable. Available in different sizes and proportions, Aquos shower trays come in seven colors, white, black, slate, pearl, onyx, beige, and the trendy color coffee. The Stainless Steel Grid for the Aquos shower tray features a sleek, minimalist design, and can be covered in your choice of STONEX® Color Cover for Aquos Shower Tray.
