CTRLZAK is a hybrid studio that works between art and design by integrating different disciplines and cultures. The founders, Katia Meneghini and Thanos Zakopoulos, are both artists and designers, and their creations are inspired by their travels, experiences, and especially the rich background of their cultures, Italian and Greek, respectively. The studio makes projects, creates spaces, objects and situations, where people are often involved in a relational process and interaction. CTRLZAK's projects are created through intense research of traditions and cultural context, investigating the past to shape a new hybrid future. This is precisely CTRLZAK's approach: to take steps forward by always looking back, to interrogate the past in order to project into the future through the present, with awareness. All projects are stories waiting to be told with different methods of storytelling, through a variety of forms and with multiple conclusions, where irony and symbolism go beyond aesthetics and functionality, with the aim of activating mechanisms for reflection.
