Drop is a Finnish company specializing in the design and production of
outdoor spas,
outdoor saunas, lodges, and
designer fireplaces. Founded by Finnish designer Nikolai Ruola, Drop combines functionality and form in solutions designed for outdoor well-being. The inspiration comes from the Nordic landscape and the distinctive shape of a drop, which gave its name to the first spa created:
Pisara, still in production today. Drop products are entirely made in Finland, with a strong focus on material quality, sustainability, and artisanal craftsmanship.

The collection is completed by
Drop Saunas and
Drop Lodges, designed to meet needs of well-being, hospitality, and flexible living. The saunas, built with CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber), are easy to install, available with electric or wood-burning stoves, and comfortably accommodate up to 5 people. The Drop Lodges are modular structures with no built-in features (benches, drains, or stoves), conceived as multifunctional mini-architectures: guest houses, studios, relaxation spaces, or play areas — always featuring the brand’s signature drop-shaped panoramic window.
International growth and design awards
Since its debut, Drop has stood out for its innovative design approach, receiving the “Design Deed of the Year” award in 2015 from the Association for Finnish Work — a recognition never before given to an outdoor spa. The clean, recognizable aesthetic language has guided the development of the entire product range: spas, fireplaces, and now saunas and lodges, all sharing a consistent and functional visual identity. Drop products carry the Key Flag symbol, certifying Finnish production and the use of local components for at least 50% of the product’s value. In particular, the Drop Design Fire and all electric spas are produced at the Lieto facility, where the company centralized its manufacturing to optimize quality and logistics. In recent years, Drop has experienced significant expansion, with revenue increasing from €1.8 to €2.7 million and a well-established sales network across Scandinavia, along with new exports to Belgium, Benelux, and Spain. The milestone of over 1,000 spas sold coincided with new international accolades, including the first prize at the Golden Wave 2022 Design Award, which confirmed the aesthetic and technical value of Drop’s solutions at the European level.
