FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti is an Italian company specializing in the production of porcelain stoneware surfaces for floors and wall coverings, designed for architecture and interior design. Part of Iris Ceramica Group, FMG was founded in 1998 in Fiorano Modenese, in the heart of the Emilia ceramic district, and has developed a design approach that combines technological research and material culture. Its objective is to reinterpret the beauty of natural stone through advanced industrial processes, offering designers versatile solutions for residential, contract, and retail contexts, where aesthetics and technical performance achieve a coherent balance.

FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti: porcelain stoneware surfaces

Since its foundation, FMG has evolved around a clear industrial vision: to produce high-quality ceramic surfaces inspired by natural materials, with respect for the environment and through cutting-edge production technologies. The company bases its know-how on the ability to replicate the formation processes of stone, combining selected raw materials – minerals, sands, and pure clays – with production cycles characterized by extremely high pressures and temperatures exceeding 1300°C. This process makes it possible to obtain compact, resistant surfaces that remain unchanged over time. Technological research has led to the development of so-called decorative technical ceramics, a material capable of faithfully reproducing marbles, granites, and natural stones while maintaining high technical performance. FMG surfaces stand out for their low porosity, high resistance to scratches, stains, and chemical agents, as well as for their ease of maintenance and installation. Commitment to sustainability is an integral part of the production system: the company adopts closed-loop processes, uses natural raw materials, and has obtained international certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and EMAS, as well as ANAB biocompatibility certification.

MaxFine large slabs and Full Body³ porcelain stoneware for architecture

The FMG catalog is structured around a wide range of porcelain stoneware surfaces available in various formats, finishes, and thicknesses, designed for applications ranging from floor and wall coverings to the creation of custom-made furnishing elements. Among the most representative solutions is the MaxFine line, introduced in 2011, which features large ceramic slabs up to 300×150 cm with reduced thicknesses, designed to overcome the distinction between horizontal and vertical surfaces and expand compositional possibilities in contemporary design. Alongside large slabs, FMG also develops Full Body³ technology, a through-body porcelain stoneware characterized by the uniformity between surface and internal structure. This material allows for visually consistent surfaces with enhanced resistance, making it suitable even for high-traffic environments. The offering is completed by traditional formats, available in different sizes and finishes – from polished to natural effect, up to textured surfaces – enabling the creation of articulated material and color combinations.
The breadth of the range, with over 60 variants inspired by marbles, stones, and granites, allows designers to work with a coordinated system of surfaces capable of adapting to multiple application contexts, both indoor and outdoor. The aesthetic quality of the surfaces, combined with their technical performance, makes FMG products reliable design tools, conceived to last over time and ensure safety, hygiene, and ease of use. Through the integration of technological innovation, aesthetic research, and attention to environmental impact, FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti positions itself as a key player in the ceramic surfaces sector, offering materials that expand the expressive possibilities of contemporary architecture.
