Tectona is a French brand specializing in the production of high-end outdoor furniture for gardens, terraces, poolside areas, and contract outdoor spaces. Founded in 1977, the brand develops collections in teak, powder-coated aluminum, and woven resin, materials selected for their resistance, durability, and aesthetic quality in outdoor use. Tectona’s formal language is positioned in a balance between classic and contemporary: outdoor furniture conceived to stand the test of time, engage in dialogue with the landscape, and integrate naturally into private, museum, hospitality, and institutional settings.

Outdoor furniture by Tectona: teak, aluminum, and woven resin for outdoor living

The Tectona catalog includes garden furniture, seating, tables, benches, sun loungers, parasols, and accessories for outdoor furnishing, designed to meet the needs of open-air living with durable and comfortable solutions. Teak is one of the central materials in the brand’s production, worked according to traditional cabinetmaking expertise and chosen for its stability outdoors. Alongside wood, Tectona uses powder-coated aluminum and woven resin, materials suited to withstand weather conditions and temperature variations. The brand’s identity is expressed through a “contemporary classic” style, rooted in references to English Country life culture and the Arts and Crafts movement. Over time, Tectona has expanded its formal repertoire through collaborations with designers such as Andrée Putman, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Pierre Charpin, Inga Sempé, Barber & Osgerby, and Christophe Delcourt. Among its most representative projects is the CAPC bench, created in 1992 by Andrée Putman for the Museum of Contemporary Art in Bordeaux. Tectona collections are also present in cultural and institutional locations such as the Palace of Versailles, the Domaine de Chambord, the Musée Picasso in Paris, and the Musée Rodin.

Tectona, history and savoir-faire of the French brand since 1977

The history of Tectona began in 1977 in France, with the aim of offering outdoor furniture capable of combining comfort, construction quality, and aesthetic continuity. Initially conceived for parks and gardens, Tectona furniture has progressively accompanied the evolution of outdoor living, extending to urban terraces, pool areas, hotels, and contract environments. A central role in product development is entrusted to the Atelier Tectona, located in Normandy, in the Pays de Caux. Here, the drawings of designers and internally developed creations are analyzed, reworked, and prototyped, with the technical stages verified before production begins. The atelier’s work also benefits from the support of a Meilleur Ouvrier de France, a figure connected to the preservation of artisanal savoir-faire. Durability is an integral part of Tectona’s approach: the brand offers maintenance, repair, and spare-part replacement services, as well as customization options for furniture and parasols, from the choice of aluminum finishes to outdoor fabrics. In this way, Tectona interprets outdoor furniture as a product designed to preserve functional quality, formal balance, and coherence with contemporary living spaces over time.
